Mary Lee Brady, Ph.D.
| | We are relatively certain that Beverly R. Lee, son of Nancy Lee Banister Watson, was the father of Chester Arthur Lee as listed below. We are equally certain that he was employed/engaged in the coal mining industries in Midlothian, Virginia and in Snowden Township, Pennsylvania at least by year 1902 when and where his daughter Bessie was born. We believe he was likely engaged as a mule driver in hauling coal out of the minds as a contractor, as was occupation of Thomas Lee when in Midlothian. Their lives including Arthur's son Temple is evidence that Lee males were often engaged in the ownership and handling of horses and mules for hauling various goods, including coal. He and his wife Maud and other Lee siblings were among the founders of Sunrise Baptist Church around year 1905-1906.
